My name is Andrew English, and my journey in the world of swimming and education has been nothing short of fulfilling and enriching. For the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of working closely with students and swimmers, guiding them towards their goals and helping them unlock their full potential as a swim instructor and coach at Spa 23.
My own love for swimming ignited during my childhood years, where I found myself immersed in the waters as both a summer league swimmer of the Lincoln Park Dolphins and club swimmer for the Cougar Aquatic Team. These early experiences instilled in me a deep passion for the sport, driving me to pursue it at a higher level.
As fate would have it, my journey led me to become a member of the Ramapo College Swim Team, where I dedicated four years of my life to representing my team with pride and determination. It was during my senior year that I was bestowed with the honor of captaining the Men's team, an experience that taught me invaluable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and perseverance.
Following my collegiate swimming career, I transitioned seamlessly into coaching, serving as an assistant coach for the Ramapo College Swim Team for two years.
In addition to my coaching endeavors, I pursued a career in education, becoming a teacher in Belleville, New Jersey, where I have had the privilege of shaping young minds for the past 7 years.
Throughout my journey, I have remained deeply involved in swimming at every level, from beginners to collegiate athletes. As an assistant coach for the Cougar Aquatic Team, I continue to share my love for the sport.
I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. I am excited to continue making a positive impact in the lives of swimmers this summer.
Hi, my name is Ellie De Keukelaere I have been a part of the world of swimming for the past 11 years. I first started my swimming experience here on the Fayson Lakes swim team when I was six years old. Ever since then my love and knowledge for the sport of swimming has grown.
After my first season on the Fayson Gators swim team, I decided I wanted to keep practicing in the sport where I later joined my first club swim team the Wayne Bluestreaks. I have had the privilege throughout these years to be coached by numerous amounts coaches with all different coaching styles and techniques. I have been able to embrace many of the coaching styles that I believe have made me become a better swimmer into my coaching style.
I have been grateful enough throughout my years of swimming to be on many different swim teams with lots of coaches and fellow swimmers. I first started my swimming journey at Fayson during the summers. Than all year round swimming for 10 years on Wayne Bluestreaks. During highschool I am on the Kinnelon Girls swim team, where we have been all-conference champs, two-time sectional champs, and we have made it to state finals two years in a-row. I have also been on the Lakeland Hills swim team for one year now. I have also been on the nationals team for three years.
As years went on I learned my love for swimming not only stemmed from in the pool but also out of it. For these past three years I have been able to translate my swimming knowledge into the young swimmers before us. I have enjoyed every moment of it. Seeing the sport I love become other young swimmers sport that they also love. I am so grateful for my two years under coach Dave and all the knowledge he has given me on the art of coaching. And I am so excited to be continuing my third year under Coach Andrew, and learning from him and all of his experience.
I cannot wait for what this season has in store for us. I am also so grateful for all the opportunities and experiences that this job has given me. I cannot wait for this summer, and to work hard and swim fast. I look forward to furthering my positive influence on swimmers' lives this summer.Go Gators!!!
